We're eager to bring you a series of profiles to introduce you to a few of our makers. This is just one in a series of Vendor Spotlights where we let those who will be sharing their wares shine a light on what it is they do. The following profile is Samantha from Snow. and her response to a mini-questionnaire.

1). What's your name and what is it that you make?

My name is Samantha Hudson and I create amigurumi- a Japanese style of crochet, meaning 'knitted/crocheted stuffed doll'.

2). How did you acquire the unique skill set to do what it is you do?

In college, I had a roommate who was a metals major and she showed me how to crochet with metal wire. We eventually moved onto yarn and I began making scarves. Just about 6 years ago, my best friend announced she was pregnant with her first child, and I became interested in amigurumi. At her baby shower, my first amigurumi was an instant hit, and I was immediately asked where I was selling them. At that point I wasn't- and so, along with my first niece, snow. was born.

3).  What is your best seller?

Cactus have taken over as the best seller. I started making them as an experiment and people really took to them. Who doesn't love a plant you can't kill?

4).  How long have you been vending? Have you done a Crafty Mart show before?

I've been vending shows around Ohio for the past 4 years, and have proudly been a part of Crafty Mart since 2012.

5).  Chocolate or peanut butter?

Chocolate, please!

Thank you for answering our questions, Sam! We can't wait to see you at the next Crafty Mart. You can follow her on Facebook, Instagram or shop online anytime.
