We want to share a bit of good news, if you haven't already heard about it. The Akron/Summit Convention and Visitors Bureau held their annual awards banquet and ceremony on Tuesday, May 5th to honor contributions made to the Akron and Summit County hospitality industry. Our very own Assistant Director, Joanna Wilson, was invited to attend--and Crafty Mart won an award!
Crafty Mart won the Best Retail Therapy award in the "You Tell the Tourist" category--amongst some pretty stiff competition.
We here at Crafty Mart are extremely pleased and honored to be recognized by this award. We're proud to be one of the many excellent reasons to visit and shop in downtown Akron. As a new and growing non-profit organization, the recognition is inspiring as we to continue to build the arts and culture community and raise the quality of life for residents in Akron and Summit County.

We'd like to congratulate all the other nominees and winners in all the categories at the Zenith Awards. The room was filled with Akron's best--and we're pleased to even be considered. Many thanks to the Akron/Summit Convention and Visitors Bureau. And THANK YOU--both shoppers and makers--who give us the reasons to keep doing what we do. This award is about your successes.
We'd also like to congratulate a few of our friends. Chris Horne won the Hospitality Innovation award on behalf of his publication The Devil Strip (Chris is also on the Crafty Mart Board of Directors) and Tessa Reeves won on behalf of Neighbors Apparel--one of our new, exciting makers. Congratulations, guys!
