LYDIA'S SHOPPER STORY
Last Saturday, Lydia and I decided to have a little mommy-daugher date and check out the Pop Up Crafty Mart at the Akron Art Walk.
Lydia couldn't wait to go inside Summit Art Space to do some shopping. (We received the Shop Small canvas bag from last November's Holiday Crafty Mart.)
The first thing to catch Lydia's eye (and mine) was Our Daily Bread Bakery. It took her a little while to decide on what sweet treat she wanted to buy.
After much debate, Lydia finally picked out a yummy raspberry pastry. She let me have a couple of bites and it was delicious!
Lydia could not resist stopping to meet Jennifer Davis owner of SmARTStudio in Akron. Jennifer's studio teaches multi-art classes to all ages. Jennifer earned a BA in Visual Arts Eduction and holds an Ohio Educator License in Visual Arts PreK-12 . Lydia, who has taken other art classes, enjoyed having a lengthy chat with Jennifer about her knowledge of primary colors and overall love of art.
Of course, we couldn't say goodbye to Jennifer before Lydia had a chance to show off her drawing skills by creating a portrait of her family on the SmARTStudio chalk board set up!
This is only a small fraction of the large amount of talent you will find at Craft Mart. Lydia and I spent time browsing and taking in all of the eye candy before finally going home. If you haven’t had an opportunity to check out any of the Crafty Marts I would highly recommend doing so. My business, Rigmarole, will also be at the Crafty Mart Mom & Pop Shoppe on April 25th.
Thanks Chris and Lydia!
